"For me there is only the traveling on paths that have heart, on any path that may have heart. There I travel, and the only worthwhile challenge is to traverse its full length. And there I travel looking, looking, breathlessly."

-Don Juan, The Teachings of Don Juan by Carlos Castaneda

riginally from Berne, Switzerland, Andre Kohler has always been drawn to exploring the many wonders of life. Since he left his home country in 1986, he has lived in Belgium, Haiti, New York, Brazil, San Francisco, Puerto Rico, Chicago and Los Angeles. Fluency in six languages came easily, thanks in part to his interest in foreign cultures and his openness to communication with strangers. Andre has been creative in the fields of photography, sculpture, interior and furniture design and is a specialist in accomplishing seemingly impossible projects. His passion though, lies in roaming abandoned industrial complexes, the back alleys and nature in search of unique objects to add to his many collections. Howling and dancing under the full moon with his lunatic friends is Andre's therapy against the frustrations of our bureaucratic society.

arla Melo, after living in Los Angeles for nearly ten years, feels more Brazilian than ever. She loves to dance all night and to make magic happen through experimental theater and ritual.

Besides performing in alternative venues she also teaches acting. Carla holds a
B.F.A in Fine Arts and is currently getting a Master degree in Theater. Painting, photography, video installation and writing are some of her other creative outlets, though she confesses that underneath her serious commitment to whatever it is she is doing, lies the heart of a true dilettante.

She is passionate for artistic expression that reaches the intersection where different cultures meet, and in which only the transcendence of personal identity allows for real communication.

Going back to her homeland right at the turn of the millennium, which coincides with Brazil's 500 years of "discovery", is one of those deliciously dangerous synchronicities that she lives for.

agalosa is the name of our home running away from home. Built in 1967 as a Dodge/Chinook motor home, she still displays that innocent charm of the good old days. Equipped with more than necessary she is as comfortable as they come.
