The Huichol are the only indigenous people in Mexico which have largely remained unotuched by western civilization. Isolated in the Sierra Madre Occiddental, they have managed to keep their traditional ways uncorrupted. They believe themselves to be the "Mirrors of God" and use their art to manifest this vision. The Centro Cultural Huichol is committed to preserving their rich cultural heritage. Mariano Valadez Navarro (pictured above, with one of his pieces), a master yarn painter, is one of the original founders and leads the center together with Olga. We are happy to offer you their beautiful artwork through our web site.
